Statement on Parents' Rights to Withdraw Children from Religious Education (RE) Lessons

According to the legal framework governing RE in England, parents have the right to withdraw their children from all or any part of RE lessons. 1. Opportunities for Discussion: Parents are encouraged to discuss their decision with school leaders prior to making this decision. An invitation to have a discussion of this sort is not an indication that the school will not comply with a parent's right to withdraw.
