Remote Learning

At Queenborough School & Nursery, we are committed to providing a high-quality education for all our pupils, even in the event of partial or full school closures. Our #BEAT values - Belong, Expect, Achieve, Thrive - guide our approach to remote learning, ensuring that our pupils continue to feel supported and engaged in their learning journey.

Blended Approach to Remote Learning In the event of a partial or full school closure, we will implement a blended approach to remote learning, combining live lessons via Zoom and engaging activities posted on our school website. This approach allows us to maintain the personal connection with our pupils while also providing flexible, self-paced learning opportunities.

Live Lessons Our teachers will deliver some short, interactive lessons through Zoom, enabling our pupils to receive direct instruction, ask questions, and engage in discussions with their peers. The Zoom link will be shared with parents via email as soon as it is decided that remote learning is to be implemented

Online Activities Complementing the live lessons, we will also post a range of engaging activities and resources on our school website. These may include pre-recorded instructional videos, interactive worksheets, links to online learning platforms, and creative projects that allow our pupils to explore their interests and consolidate their learning.

Supporting Our Families We understand that remote learning can present unique challenges for families. Our team is here to provide support and guidance throughout the process. Parents are encouraged to reach out to their child's teacher or our special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) if they require any assistance or have questions about the remote learning provision.

Belonging and Wellbeing At the heart of our remote learning approach is the belief that our pupils should continue to feel a strong sense of belonging to our school community. In the event of a prolonged school closure, we will provide virtual check-ins, assemblies, and opportunities for social interaction. We will strive to maintain the warm, nurturing environment that is central to the Queenborough experience.

By embracing a flexible, responsive, and supportive approach to remote learning, we aim to ensure that our pupils can Belong, Expect, Achieve, and Thrive, even in the face of unexpected circumstances. We remain committed to providing a high-quality education and fostering a strong sense of community throughout our school.
